list Business Analyst

Business Analyst – to £40k + benefits – great company to work for.

  • Are you a Business Analyst with experience in the end-to-end project delivery cycle?
  • Can you quickly establish the scope and impact (both processes and technical) for proposed projects?
  • Do you thrive on understanding the technical impact of projects?
  • Are you hands-on in all areas including testing?

My client is looking for a Business Analyst who is exceptional in liaising with technical teams to understand the impact of a potential change on the current systems and processes.

What will you be doing?

Working with Project Sponsors, Project Stakeholders (will vary depending on the project, but likely to include Operations, Marketing and/or Retail Distribution representatives), Transformation, Technology, Risk and Audit, you will be adept at understanding and documenting requirements and then working to understand the technical impact of any new projects.

  • Converting business, technical and non-functional requirements into design options
  • Engaging with the stakeholders and relevant Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify, analyse, and produce high level options for solution design which align with strategies and principles.
  • Analysing and documenting current integrations, workflows, and information exchanges, challenging the stakeholders/SMEs where necessary and confirming assumptions, to seek opportunity to improve processes, to ensure maximum benefits and customer experience can be realised.
  • Producing options analysis with a considered recommendation to the business
  • Evaluating and documenting the options available, including consideration of the risks, impacts, issues, and costs associated with each to allow the business to make an informed decision.
  • Identifying and documenting the current and future states of the business processes as a result of the change taking into account the project requirements and the strategic long terms goals.
  • Working with Project Managers to identify and understand all risks and issues arising during the project. If applicable manage the resulting controls and actions required to achieve satisfactory resolution.
  • Developing effective working relationships with all stakeholders, including third party management where appropriate.
  • Working with the other team members to define standard templates for the Project Life Cycle documentation.
  • Working with the Architectural function and design authorities to ensure any options fit with strategic direction of the business.

What Skills and Experience Should you have?

3 years’ experience in a similar role. A Business Analysis qualification would be nice, however proven experience is just as valuable.

You should be able to demonstrate experience (not just the theory) of doing the following;

  • The ability to interpret business requirements and work with the technical team to understand how the solution can deliver against the requirements.
  • The ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Structured and logical approach to problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Natural curiosity and confidence to challenge existing practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written).
  • The ability to identify and effectively manage risks and issues.
  • Testing including end to end integration.
  • Resilience and the ability to work effectively under challenge.
  • Competent using Microsoft Office Suite (inc. MS Word, Excel, PPoint and Visio).
