What will you be doing?
We are looking for Senior Telecoms Infrastructure Administrator who can help my client deliver their mission to “earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service”.
As the Senior Telecoms Infrastructure Administrator your key responsibilities are
- Working with the business to design, implement, manage and support the group telecoms platforms. This includes account creation and management, call flow management/Interactive Voice Response and supporting staff with resolving issues.
- Working with platform providers to ensure account relationships are maintained and licensing reviewed with appropriate internal teams.
- Planning and preparing for any expansion and changes within the Group.
- Actively working to ensure software licencing across all environments in use within the Group is recorded and kept compliant.

- Relevant degree, technical certification or equivalent.
- Strong communication skills to confidently communicate with employees at all levels of the organisation.

- Experience of maintaining a cloud-based contact centre environment.
- Experience of maintaining call groups, call flows, and user accounts in a cloud or on-premises telephony environment.
- Understanding of key telecommunications technologies such as Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and call flow management.

2nd Line Support Engineer - Carlisle
My Carlisle based client has a vacancy for a 2ndLine Remote Support Engineer. They are a well-respected and established MSP with a great book of business across Cumbria and the North.
What will you be doing?
You will be responsible for delivering a professional level of remote IT Support to customers as well as assisting with routine backup monitoring. The successful applicant will be based at the Carlisle Office and will work full time Monday - Friday 08.30 - 17.00hrs.
What Skills and Experience do you need to be successful in the role?
The successful applicant would need to be able to demonstrate strong diagnostic and technical skills as well as a good level of knowledge in the following areas:
- Microsoft Windows Server including AD, DHCP, DNS & Group Policy Management.
- Microsoft Windows Desktop including Windows 10 & Windows 11.
- Active Directory & Azure Active Directory.
- Office 365 Administration including Exchange, Teams & Sharepoint.
- Networking (Switches/Firewalls/Routers/WIFI).
- Microsoft Office Applications.
- Virtualisation with Microsoft Hyper-V.
- MDM – Mobile Device Management.
- Data Backup & Recovery Methods
In support of your technical skills, you need great soft skills, organisation and the knowledge of how to get things done in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Minimum of 1 year’ experience in 2ndline helpdesk support.
- Troubleshooting complex IT issues.
- Organised and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

IT Field Engineer - North or West Cumbria
IT Field Engineer - based in the North or West Cumbria area.
We are looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer to join my client’s team to install and support a wide range of servers and networks from small to medium-sized businesses and Schools and Academies in Cumbria. They are an established MSP with a strong book of business in the Northwest of England.
What will you be doing?
You will be working at various customer sites with main duties that include updating and improving existing systems to ensure they are used in the most efficient way. Installing and supporting a wide range of servers and networks and to keep them updated with bug fixes and security updates.
In addition to the above you will also be responsible for aiding the team of remote support officers (RSO’s) in fault rectification via remote services as and when required.
What experience and skills are required?
Being on client sites you need to be a strong communicator with excellent organisational skills. On top of these skills, you will need a solid technical background.
- 2-5 years’ experience of working within an IT role.
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Operating System deployment and support (Windows 10+, Windows Server 2016+)
- Virtualisation with Hyper-V
- Active Directory (including Azure AD)
- Microsoft 365 administration and configuration
- Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Cloud Services
- Sound knowledge of Windows, iOS and Android deployment and management
- Demonstrable troubleshooting skills
- Network design & management including routing, switching, VLANS, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, Wireless LAN/WAN.
It will help if you have any experience in the following areas, but don’t worry if you haven’t, these are things that would be nice to have rather than essential.
- Experience in backup solutions, bare metal restores and disaster recovery.
- Understanding of NCSC Cyber Essentials scheme.
- Knowledge of Cloud services
- Basic mechanical and electrical skills (i.e. fitting rack mount kit in a cabinet and safe cable runs)
As this is a client facing role where you may be working on your own or as part of a team, your soft skills are equally important.
- Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills as you will be dealing with customers in all positions from board level downwards.
- Analytical thinking and be able to demonstrate a problem-solving mindset.
- Organised, focused and accurate.
- Ability to work within a team as well as independently.
- The candidate must be well-presented and have good written and verbal English skills.
